Recent experience with the Gaviota Fleet, Original message from Sal Tarantino - May 12 2008 Options

Dear Los Cabos Guide:
I want to inform you of my recent experience with the Gaviota Fleet. I was at the dock yesterday and spoke to the Captain (and he spoke to the owner of the Gaviota Fleet) about renting a 26 foot boat for today. After speaking to him for about 20 minutes yesterday and also PAYING my $100.00 deposit and receiving a contract for today, I was all set to go out and enjoy the day and catch some fish out of the beautiful ocean of Cabo San Lucas. Much to my surprise last night, I received a call last night from the Captain (at 9:00pm) informing me that the boat would not be available and that it had already been reserved for someone else and that for $250.00 more I could get another boat. I was absolutely FURIOUS!!!! I told him this as unacceptable and that I have a contract and I put my deposit down. After pleading with him, it was obvious that someone paid him and the owner of the Gavitoa Fleet MORE MONEY and that I was put on the back burner. I will stick to the Picante Fleet as they have ALWAYS provided me the best customer service and have always put the customer FIRST. This is my first experience fishing with the Gaviota Fleet and my LAST. I have fished with other fleets and have NEVER received this type of POOR customer service. I hope you write this up in your guide as more customers will steer away from the Gaviota Fleet. I know I will be publishing this in the Los Angeles Times and will inform numerous Sport Fishing Magazines of this unacceptable and poor customer service.
